Our approach to counselling ensures that the relationship between client and counsellor is confidential, respectful and consistent. We believe that feeling respected and safe are important factors in working together. We use a range of therapies including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Family Development Therapy, Person Centred Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Relapse Prevention Therapy and Solution Focused Therapy, which through our qualified guidance enables our clients to acquire the coping skills, needed to move forward with their lives.
An initial consultation in your home or safe place allows us to discuss the full range of your concerns. We will discuss the type and frequency of counselling at the end of the first session. However, you may be relieved to know that we are committed to ensure you only attend the number of sessions you require. We recognise the healing process and know when our clients have gained the skills needed to move on without attending unnecessary additional sessions. As a commitment to offering the most up to date therapy and strategies our practitioners attend courses nationally & internationally to enhance their ability to look after our clients. We are all Members of the Australian Institute of Professional Counsellors, The Australian Counselling Association and/or The Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) and work within their codes of ethics.
