Disability
We support the idea of independence and empowerment for people living with a disability helping to create a meaningful life, which realises your dreams and aspirations. Taking the time to understand you and your dreams in your environment is what makes us different. Adelaide Discreet Counselling offer a range of disability support solutions for children, young people and adults. Utilising support that is all-inclusive, individual and strengths-based is important for overall health and well-being. Our practitioners are committed to providing flexible support options that are available in your own home, or in supported independent living environments. In addition, our friendly, knowledgeable people are on hand to help carers work through the emotions and challenges they face every day.
Our services are claimable through the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) if you have a plan or self-managed NDIS arrangement. Our services fall under the Capacity Building Supports section of your NDIS plan. We also provide all levels of Support Coordination (support connection, coordination of supports and specialist support coordination). If you are unsure if your NDIS plan includes our services, please contact us.
Group programs
Regardless of primary diagnosis, we pride ourselves on offering a holistic approach that caters to everyone’s needs. We use a Model of Recovery-Orientated Practice that provides support based on your individual circumstances. This ensures we are delivering support that allows you control and recognises your strengths in a collaborative, respectful and transparent relationship. In our experience, group programs reduce the feelings of isolation and encourage a sense of purpose.
Caring can be rewarding, but sometimes the stresses and demands of being a carer can bring up complex emotions. In our Carer Support Groups, we offer support sessions, social outings, activity groups and educational workshops where volunteers and carers can share their stories, provide tips on how to make caring easier, or swap information on preferred local services.
